We work directly with Komodo’s team to bring their USDA Forest Service–certified wildfire defense retardant to high-risk residential properties, estates, and utility corridors across Southern California. On the ground, our crews operate as an extension of Komodo, applying their technology and standards with local expertise tailored to LA’s terrain, vegetation density, and extreme wind conditions.
Our Komodo Fire Retardant application provides a critical layer of protection for high-value estates located in Los Angeles’ most fire-prone WUI zones. The product is completely plant-based, non-toxic, and free of endocrine-disrupting chemicals commonly found in phosphate-based retardants, making it safe to use around homes where families, pets, and guests live and spend time outdoors. Despite its environmentally gentle profile, Komodo delivers exceptional performance—significantly reducing ignition risk across dense vegetation, exposed structures, and high-hazard corridors near utilities.
Komodo can be applied to roofs, exterior walls, decks, fences, trees, and surrounding brush, creating a durable, invisible barrier ahead of red-flag wind events. Once applied, the treatment remains effective until heavy rainfall, offering season-long wildfire protection without altering the look or character of the property.
For properties that border or contain overhead utilities, Coldwater also deploys Komodo Defense, a preemptive hardening system designed for pole-mounted infrastructure. By treating power poles, transformers, and overhead equipment, Komodo Defense shields critical assets from ember exposure and radiant heat.
